The WRS B.O.D. is happy to share with the membership the creation of the WRS
Frickin
Ridiculously
Awesome
Goodies
Auction

The auctions will be part of the monthly WRS meetings and will be a chance for members to get some really nice corals and help raise funds for the club at the same time. Corals will be donated by members to the club for the auction. All funds generated from the auction will be set aside to subsidize future club purchases for the membership.
A separate thread will be started for each monthly meeting for donors to list corals that they will donate for that months auction. (pictures are encouraged whenever possible). No bids will be accepted via the forums, you must either attend the meeting or have someone who is at the meeting bid for you. Also, no corals will be leaving the auction before they are paid for.

Rules of auction are as follows:
1. All frags will need be individually bagged with the name of the coral and the donor printed on the outside of the bag.

2. The auctioneer at the time of the auction will ask the donor for a starting price.

3. All of the high bidders for the various corals will need to pay for their corals at the conclusion of the auction in cash or Paypal only.

4. Each item will be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioneer will settle any disputes as to the bids and his or her decision on such matters will be final.

5. All persons attending this auction do so at their own risk.
Neither Wisconsin Reef Society, its officers and members or any other persons connected with this sale assume any responsibility for any loss, damage or injury or assume liability, legal or otherwise in attending this sale.
It is the Bidder's responsibility to properly quarantine and dip any corals that are won in the auction.

Edit: Rules subject to change. This idea is new and with new ideas, certain aspects may be tweaked from event to event. This will be from participation feedback and new ideas from the community. This is only to help this event stay focused in a positive manner.

I really love the idea!

Is this going to be done silent auction style or with live bidding?

From above "All funds generated from the auction will be set aside to subsidize future club purchases for the membership."
Could be a new piece of equipment for members to use, coral for a growout comp., etc.
