LOT'S of great ideas from everyone. :ymapplause: I say customize each tour to fit the hosts schedule and size of the groups. Don't limit yourselves to set rules. Go with the flow. :ymparty:

I really think this should just remain open to anyone who wants to take the time to arrange one. I am planning on becoming a member again because of the experience. I think any club is only weakened by the member's only concept. Members will come when they meet the nice folks in the club. I really did like taking part in the whole tour but I also felt bad for the few folks who wanted to come but couldn't. I like the idea of "going with the flow"..

Thanks again all

Membership has other privileges such as group buys, first dibs (hopefully) on buy/sell, raffles, getting in on the bus tour, Behind the Scenes Shedd tours, etc.

"Knowledge" gained by seeing members tanks and using/reading the website should be a "freebie" that the club gives away as goodwill - in other words, the main purpose for the club... What does the constitution state as the main purpose of the club?

All good points. I'm sure John is aware of the other benefits that membership brings. I think that the warm welcome and positive nature of the Tour won him over. Glad I had a chance to meet him. Carl, too. Both good guys that have a lot to offer. :-bd

See more awesomeness..Thanks Jason I am going to send in the money but thanks for the offer. It was never the $15 it was something else. Save it for a surprise on a tank tour for a new person or a college student that really could use it.

On another not the UV sterilizer worked and the upstairs tank is chrystal clear now...crazy.thanks Rich and the gang for opinions on what was going on.

Thanks again

Jon

It was a great first tour! It was nice seeing 2 of the 3 tanks I had not seen before,
and was also seeing the 3rd I had seen- again. Thanks again to all the hosts.

I'm really not TOO OCD, but as the TOT concept introducer to our forum:
viewtopic.php?f=58&t=16919&hilit=Tank+tour

I try and be a very punctual person, yet I also get the concept of
'going with the flow', but.....

When so many people, come from so far away, (hopefully more in future tours),

The schedule is so important.
While this tour did go off great,
If you have a schedule, I'm all about trying to stick to it.
If you're hosting, Knowing when you're hosting and when to expect guests, etc.

I don't have my August schedule yet;

But I'd like to Host, and I'd like to have 20+

There are several other Reefers within a 10 min. drive from my house too!
